Our History
Born as the result of a community-wide tent revival, our church was formed in 1916. Neighbors joined together to chop and pick cotton to raise enough money to build a small church on a lot donated by two ladies from the community. And that original lot is still a part of our campus today!
For more than a century now, our church has shared the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ in Finley and to the surrounding Dyer County area. Many anointed men and women of God have led and served in this great congregation bringing us to the place we are today. We are thankful for a wonderful heritage of Godly leadership!
Our physical footprint has grown from a tent to a multi-building campus encompassing several acres on both sides of Mimosa Street. But, we are most excited and thankful that our spiritual footprint has grown as well. From sending out global missionaries that are sharing the gospel internationally and church planters establishing churches in other cities nationally to growing faithful people that serve generously here, this Finley United Forest of Faith is rooted downward, growing upward, and reaching outward!
We are blessed with a great history! It tells the story of how we have arrived at where we are today. But our history is only part of our story…we have an exciting future ahead of us! And we invite you to come and join this great forest of faith as we write the next chapter.
Finley United, a place where people love unconditionally, serve generously, and worship continually. This is a place for you!
